Small group exercise classes

Welcoming exercise classes for busy people of all fitness levels, ages and abilities – from an Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Group classes are a fun and affordable way to inject exercise into your life without committing to personalised 1:1 consultations.

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, I have a deep understanding of how bodies work and how they respond to exercise – and I use all of this scientific insight to create classes that sustainably build your strength, fitness and mobility (without pushing you beyond your limits or risking an injury).

I know that classes in big, busy gyms can feel intimidating – especially when you’re managing a chronic condition or getting back into exercise after a break – and that’s why I hold small-group classes in laidback, welcoming environments.

These small numbers mean I can check in on your progress and modify exercises to suit your needs. You’ll also likely start to recognise the other friendly faces there each week – especially once the jokes and laughter start!

“Friendly, positive and knowledgeable.”

“You created a comfortable environment instantly. I recall you seeking feedback first up about any issues or injuries and then you personalised Pilates exercises, as well as followed things up in the coming weeks, which I greatly appreciated. I also recall loving how you encouraged us to incorporate simple exercise into our everyday routines.”

Pilates in the Halls (mat Pilates)

Join us for general mat Pilates classes that help you feel stronger, stable and more mobile. Set amongst the backdrop of quintessential country halls, these classes are a fun and friendly introduction to pilates without the large numbers or intimidating environment of a busy gym.

Usually with no more than eight people in class, the small groups mean I can follow your progress and modify exercises when needed. There’s no pressure to come every week – you’re welcome to show up whenever you can.

  • Anyone who wants to improve their mobility, strength and stability – and have lots of fun while you do it.

Before class begins, I’ll check in with you about any existing illnesses, injuries or concerns and have you complete a pre-exercise screening form. That way, I can modify activities to best suit your body and fitness level.

Sassy Lassies (Female resistance training)

We all deserve to feel strong and capable within our bodies – to lift, move and play without worrying that something will be too heavy or that we might hurt ourselves.

That can be a particular concern after you’ve had a break from regular exercise or been through growing, birthing and sustaining a baby.

Resistance training (where muscles work against a force, whether it's your own body weight, weights, resistance bands, or other equipment) is a way to build strength and power – so you can live the life you want, in the way you want.

These classes take resistance training out of the gym and into a vibrant natural environment, so you feel welcome and at ease as you learn a new skill.

During class, we’ll discuss the science of staying strong as we age, learn techniques for performing compound movements to develop strength in a safe and sustainable way, and gain confidence knowing what to do, when to do it and how.

As the ultimate cheerleader, I’ll also provide weekly resources and empower you to get to it!

  • Any women who want to get back into regular exercise after having a baby, or simply build strength and power – and have lots of fun while you do it.

Before class begins, I’ll check in with you about any existing illnesses, injuries or concerns and have you complete a pre-exercise screening form. That way, I can modify activities to best suit your body and fitness level.

  • North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens: Every Thursday, 9am – 9.45am

Meet us at the display conference room (on the left of the entrance building as you walk into the Gardens from the main car park).

  • Clothes to move in, joggers, a yoga or Pilates mat and 2kg dumb bells.

  • Casual class: $20

    5 class pass: $85

    10 class pass: $150

  • Babies and toddlers are welcome but my focus will be on the adults.

  • I love to have a chat and know about any pre-existing conditions you might have (just to make sure this class is right for you), so send me a message here or give me a call.

Parkinson’s Exercise Group

We can’t underestimate the role exercise plays in slowing the progression of Parkinson’s Disease. When you know how, you can leverage your everyday movements to move, feel and look better, increase strength and flexibility, slow disease progression, and enhance overall quality of life.

But when you’re not feeling your best, are seeing your symptoms worsen, or haven’t been able to exercise for a long time, it can feel intimidating to start moving again.

That’s why this class, informed by my PD Warrior Training, is designed to make exercise fun, achievable, and tailored to you, so you can take more control of your symptoms and see genuine improvements..

I know that Parkinson’s disease impacts different people in different ways – and no two people will have the exact same set of symptoms.

That’s why I cap class numbers at just eight people, and ask that you attend at least one 1:1 consultation with me before joining class. This way, I can better understand your unique needs (and your individual Parkinson’s symptoms) and modify exercises to suit you.

  • Anyone with Parkinson’s Disease who is interested in using exercise as a tool to manage symptoms, get moving and connect with others (and has attended at least one 1:1 consultation with me first).

    • High intensity – North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens: Every Thursday, 10am – 11am

    • Building intensity – North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens: Every Thursday, 11am – 12 noon

Once you’ve had your 1:1 consultation, I’ll assess which class would be best for you to start in.

Then you can meet us at the display conference room (on the left of the entrance building as you walk into the Gardens from the main car park).

  • Clothes you can move in, a full water bottle and plenty of energy.

  • $30 per session

  • So that I can better understand your unique needs – and your individual Parkinson’s symptoms – you’ll need to have at least one 1:1 consultation with me before you join the group class.

You can do this by requesting a consultation here or calling 0407 959 501.

“Now my Parkinson’s is a sideline”

“Six months ago I was overwhelmed by my Parkinson's. It dominated every decision. Then I started exercising more and at a higher intensity. Now, it's a sideline."
