About Medicise
Making exercise achievable, enjoyable and uplifting, so you can gain confidence and feel better
Hi, I’m Alexandra Bruggisser – a mum, science nerd, weekend athlete and Accredited Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
Everyday, I help people like you – whether you’re time-poor and looking for creative ways to tick the exercise box, dealing with a chronic illness or injury, or nervously dipping your toe back into the movement pool – start a new chapter of health, stick to it and see the kinds of changes that make a real impact to your daily life.
This is about more than clocking treadmill miles or lifting heavy weights.
To me, the magic of exercise is not just that we can get fitter or stronger (though those are great outcomes) – it’s also the confidence and self-belief we get from trying something new and taking control of our health.
When you’re feeling unfit, unwell, injured or like there are just not enough hours in the day to move mindfully, your health can feel like a runaway horse – out of your control and dragging you along for the ride.
I'm here to help you take the reins back – no matter what fitness level you’re at or chronic condition you’re managing.
(and as someone who rode world-class horses professionally in Europe before the London Olympics, I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve).
Thoroughly assess your fitness, any injuries and conditions – as well as your goals and lifestyle – and tailor a personalised exercise plan to suit you.
Break down big ideas into achievable steps so you never have to worry that something will be too hard or that you’ll feel embarrassed.
Always tell you the science behind why we’re doing an activity, so you feel empowered and educated in your health.
Create a welcoming and supportive space, where fun and connection pave the way for genuine progress.
When we work together, you can count on me to:
My qualifications and experience:
As well as a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiologist, I’ve got a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education.
These qualifications have taken me all over – supporting kids to get moving with Coffs Kids in Motion, using exercise to tackle chronic disease in our most remote Top End Indigenous communities, promoting health all over the world, and researching how exercise can reduce instances of chronic illness (and its burden on the health system).
This has given me some pretty powerful insight into how we think, act and make changes – as well as a tonne of experience finding ways to make exercise more achievable and enjoyable, how to inject it into busy lives, and how to use it to help manage chronic conditions.

“Friendly, positive and knowledgeable.”
“You created a comfortable environment instantly. I recall you seeking feedback first up about any issues or injuries and then you personalised Pilates exercises, as well as followed things up in the coming weeks, which I greatly appreciated. I also recall loving how you encouraged us to incorporate simple exercise into our everyday routines.”
