Alexandra (Lec) Bruggisser Qualifications: Lec is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA). She commenced her studies at Southern Cross University with a Bachelor of Psychological Science and continued on to gain her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology. To complement her knowledge base, she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management throughDeakin University. Professional Interests: Lec is interested in people and enthusiastic about supporting patients to make positive changes to their health. She has a strong foundation in understanding human behaviour and building rapport to facilitate the best educational opportunities for every person that walks through her door. Lec is passionate about preventative health. This has lead her to working with children and young people so that healthy habits can start before health related issues arise. Experience: Over the last decade, Lec has worked in promoting health on the Mid North Coast, as well as in more isolated areas of Australia and overseas. She has been involved in research projects focusing on the importance of exercise in reducing the incidence of chronic disease, its burden on the health system and the importance of exercise in well-being. Lec has also worked extensively to promote exercise as a method for managing chronic disease in many of Australia's most remote Top End Indigenous communities.
